RESUMO

The high-performance hole transporting material (HTM) is one of the most important components for the perovskite solar cells (PSCs) in promoting power conversion efficiency (PCE). However, the low conductivity of HTMs and their additional requirements for doping and post-oxidation greatly limits the device performance. In this work, three novel pyrene-based derivatives containing methoxy-substituted triphenylamines units (PyTPA, PyTPA-OH and PyTPA-2OH) are designed and synthesized, where different numbers of hydroxyl groups are connected at the 2- or 2,7-positions of the pyrene core. These hydroxyl groups at the 2- or 2,7-positions of pyrene play a significantly role to enhance the intermolecular interactions that are able to generate in situ radicals with the assistance of visible light irradiation, resulting in enhanced hole transferring ability, as well as an enhanced conductivity and suppressed recombination. These pyrene-core based HTMs exhibit excellent performance in PSCs, which possess a higher PCE than those control devices using the traditional spiro-OMeTAD as the HTM. The best performance can be found in the devices with PyTPA-2OH. It has an average PCE of 23.44% (PCEmax = 23.50%), which is the highest PCE among the reported PSCs with the pyrene-core based HTMs up to date. This research offers a novel avenue to design a dopant-free HTM by the combination of the pyrene core, methoxy triphenylamines, and hydroxy groups.

RESUMO

Enterovirus 71 (EV71) is a neurotropic enterovirus associated with hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) fatalities. In this study, we investigated the impact of EV71 on plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) and CD4+ T cells. The results showed that pDCs were promptly activated, secreting interferon (IFN)-α and inducing CD4+ T cell proliferation and differentiation during early EV71 infection. This initiated adaptive immune responses and promoted proinflammatory cytokine production by CD4+ T cells. Over time, viral nucleic acids and proteins were synthesized in pDCs and CD4+ T cells. Concurrently, the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway (CAP) was activated, exhibiting an anti-inflammatory role. With constant viral stimulation, pDCs and CD4+ T cells showed reduced differentiation and cytokine secretion. Defects in pDCs were identified as a key factor in CD4+ T cell tolerance. CAP had a more significant regulatory effect on CD4+ T cells than on pDCs and was capable of inhibiting inflammation in these cells.

RESUMO

This study aims to assess clinical outcomes following switching from originator to generic amlodipine. This population-based, matched, cohort study included users of originator amlodipine using claims data during 2018-2020 from a health system in Tianjin, China, in which usage of generic amlodipine was promoted by a drug procurement policy, the national volume-based procurement. Non-switchers refer to those remained on originator after the policy, while pure-switchers were those who switched to and continued using generic amlodipine, and back-switchers were those switched to generic amlodipine but then back to the originator. Propensity score matching generates comparable non-switchers and pure-switchers pairs, and non-switchers and back-switchers pairs. The primary outcome was major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs), defined as all-cause mortality, stroke, and myocardial infarction during follow-up (April 1, 2019 to December 30, 2020). Secondary outcomes included heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and adherence to amlodipine. The hazard ratio (HR) for each clinical outcome was assessed through Cox proportional hazard regression. In total, 5943 non-switchers, 2949 pure-switchers, and 3061 back-switchers were included (mean age: 62.9 years; 55.5% men). For the matched pairs, pure-switchers (N = 2180) presented no additional risks of clinical outcomes compared to non-switchers (N = 4360) (e.g., MACEs: 2.86 vs. 2.95 events per 100 person-years; HR = 0.97 [95%CI: 0.70-1.33]). Back-switchers (N = 1998) also presented no additional risk compared to non-switchers (N = 3996) for most outcomes except for stroke (HR = 1.55 [95%CI: 1.03-2.34]). Pure-switchers and back-switchers all had better amlodipine adherence than non-switchers. Generic substitution of amlodipine is not associated with increased risk of cardiovascular events or all-cause mortality, but improves medicine adherence.

RESUMO

Surface subsidence pits formed by mining disturbance are highly susceptible to slope instability under rainfall erosion, inducing underground debris flow disasters. To prevent and control underground debris flow disasters in a subsidence area, a test model of subsidence pit slope was established in accordance with the principle of similar simulation, and the erosion-resistant performance of moraine-cured slopes with different soil-slurry ratios and the law of runoff and sand production were investigated through the simulation of artificial rainfall and a simulation test of grouting. Results show that the initial rainfall production time increases exponentially with increasing soil-slurry ratio, while sediment production intensity decreases linearly with increasing rainfall duration. The evolution of soil erosion can be divided into five stages: impact infiltration, water-filled softening, stripping cutting, migration crossing, and steady flow equilibrium. Compared with in situ moraine, moraine particles after grouting between the generation of large amounts of Si-O-Si and Si-OH hydration products become loose and porous soil medium is transformed into a dense cemented structure. The soil-slurry ratio is 5:1, the sand-fixing effect increases by 28.8 times, the resistance of permeability increases by 11.3 times, and the grouting curing effect is remarkable. This study can provide technical support for the prevention and control of geological disasters in subsidence pits.

RESUMO

Background: This study aimed to explore the relationship between air pollution and hospital admissions for asthma in older adults, and to further assess the health and economic burden of asthma admissions attributable to air pollution. Methods: We collected information on asthma cases in people over 65 years of age from nine cities in Sichuan province, as well as air pollution and meteorological data. The relationship between short-term air pollutant exposure and daily asthma hospitalizations was analyzed using the generalized additive model (GAM), and stratified by gender, age, and season. In addition, we assessed the economic burden of hospitalization for air pollution-related asthma in older adults using the cost of disease approach. Results: The single pollutant model showed that every 1 mg/m3 increase in CO was linked with an increase in daily hospitalizations for older adults with asthma, with relative risk values of 1.327 (95% CI: 1.116-1.577) at lag7. Each 10 µg/m3 increase in NO2, O3, PM10, PM2.5 and SO2, on asthma hospitalization, with relative risk values of 1.044 (95% CI: 1.011-1.078), 1.018 (95% CI: 1.002-1.034), 1.013 (95% CI: 1.004-1.022), 1.015 (95% CI: 1.003-1.028) and 1.13 (95% CI: 1.041-1.227), respectively. Stratified analysis shows that stronger associations between air pollution and asthma HAs among older adult in females, those aged 65-69 years, and in the warm season, although all of the differences between subgroups did not reach statistical significance. During the study period, the number of asthma hospitalizations attributable to PM2.5, PM10, and NO2 pollution was 764, 581 and 95, respectively, which resulted in a total economic cost of 6.222 million CNY, 4.73 million CNY and 0.776 million CNY, respectively. Conclusion: This study suggests that short-term exposure to air pollutants is positively associated with an increase in numbers of asthma of people over 65 years of age in Sichuan province, and short-term exposure to excessive PM and NO2 brings health and economic burden to individuals and society.

RESUMO

High-efficiency narrow-band luminescent materials have attracted intense interest, resulting in their great colorimetric purity. This has led to a variety of high-tech applications in high-definition displays, spectral analysis, and biomedicine. In this study, a rigid pyrene core was employed as the molecular backbone, and four narrow-band pyrene-based blue emitters were synthesized using various synthetic methods (such as Lewis-acid catalyzed cyclization domino reactions, Pd-catalyzed coupling reactions like Suzuki-Miyaura and Sonogashira). Due to the steric effect of the hydroxy group at the 2-position, the target compounds exhibit deep blue emission (<429 nm, CIEy < 0.08) with full width at half-maximum (FWHM) less than 33 nm both in solution and when solidified. The experimental and theoretical results indicated that the substituents at the 1- and 3-positions afford a large dihedral angle with the pyrene core, and the molecular motion is almost fixed by multiple intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonding interactions in the crystallized state, leading to a suppression of the vibrational relaxation of the molecular structure. Moreover, we observed that the suppression of the vibrational relaxation in the molecular structures and the construction of rigid conjugated structures can help develop narrow-band organic light-emitting materials.

RESUMO

Traditional non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) show serious adverse effects during clinical use, which limits their usage. Oxicams (e.g., piroxicam, meloxicam) are widely used as NSAIDs. However, selectivity to cyclooxygenase (COX) 2 may cause cardiovascular problems considering the long-term use of the drugs. Therefore, it is important to develop new non-steroidal compounds as anti-inflammatory drugs. In the present study, we evaluated the anti-inflammatory activity of a newly developed nonsteroidal drug XK01. Our data showed that XK01 reduced the contents of nitric oxide (NO) and reactive oxygen species (ROS)and inhibited the transcription levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin (IL)-6, and IL-1ß in a dose-dependent manner in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated mouse RAW264.7 macrophages. XK01 showed no significant inhibitory effect on COX-1, but inhibited the expression of COX-2. At molecular level, XK01 prevented the translocation of p65 protein from the cytoplasm to the nucleus and inhibited the phosphorylation of p65, IκB, and MAPKs proteins. And high concentration of XK01 also inhibited the phosphorylation of JNK, p38 and ERK, showing stronger effect than that of meloxicam. In addition, the anti-inflammatory activity of XK01 was further validated in Xylene-induced mouse ear swelling model. Thus, this study verified that XK01 inhibits the expression of inflammatory mediators and COX-2, and exhibits potential anti-inflammatory effects via suppressing the NF-κB and MAPK pathway.

RESUMO

This cohort study used the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS, 2015-2018) to investigate the effects of socioeconomic status and social capital to the incidence of depressive symptoms among middle-aged and older individuals in China, incorporating a sample size of 9949 participants. Socioeconomic status, social capital and other explanatory variables were collected in 2015, while depressive symptoms were assessed in 2018. Basic characteristics and social capital measures were compared between urban and rural residents using the chi-square test. Logistic regression was used to explore the relationship between socioeconomic status, social capital and depressive symptoms, and the Karlson, Holm, and Breen (KHB) method was employed to verify the mediating role of social capital. We reported persistent socioeconomic inequalities in depressive symptoms, with rural residents and the illiterate having 1.45 times and 1.34 times higher odds of depression. We ascertained social capital from both the cognitive and structural constructs, where we enriched the measurement of structural social capital from three specific dimensions, i.e., informal interaction, altruism, and formal social participation. We found that both cognitive and structural social capital were associated with lower incidence of depressive symptoms, where informal interaction had the largest effect. The mediation analysis further illustrated that informal interaction contributed most to explain 6 %-12 % of the socioeconomic inequalities in depressive symptoms. These results highlighted the unsatisfied mental wellbeing of the vulnerable older people living in rural areas. The finding suggested that older people may benefit more from personal interactions than formal participations. To fulfill the Health in All vision, government and social organizations should consider how to create opportunities to better integrate the older people into the community.

RESUMO

Lung adenocarcinoma remains one of the most frequent and deadly tumour entities. Early-stage lung adenocarcinoma is extremely difficult to detect and is also easy to recur or metastasize after treatment. Since the new adenocarcinoma classification was presented in 2011, several studies have shown that patients with solid and/or micropapillary (S/MP) predominant patterns showed a worse prognosis. Here we report the case of a 54-year-old woman who was diagnosed with stage Ib lung adenocarcinoma with S/MP components and developed an isolated brain oligometastasis after resection and adjuvant therapy. A craniocerebral operation was performed, combined with radiotherapy and targeted therapy, and the patient eventually achieved a good quality of life. Our work reviews the clinical features of lung cancer complicated with S/MP components, the relationship between MP and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation, as well as treatment strategies for such a patient with postoperative brain oligometastasis of lung adenocarcinoma complicated with EGFR Exon19del mutation.

RESUMO

Pyrene-based derivatives have been widely deployed in organic luminescent materials because of their bright fluorescence, high charge carrier mobility, and facile modification. Nevertheless, the fluorescence output of conventional pyrenes is prone to quenching upon aggregation due to extensive intermolecular π-π stacking interactions. To address this issue, a set of new Y-shaped pyrene-containing luminogens are synthesized from a new bromopyrene chemical precursor, 2-hydroxyl-7-tert-butyl-1,3-bromopyrene, where the bromo and hydroxyl groups at the pyrene core can be readily modified to obtain the target products and provide great flexibility in tuning the photophysical performances. When the hydroxy group at the 2-position of pyrene was replaced by a benzyl group, the steric hindrance of the benzyl group not only efficiently inhibits the detrimental intermolecular π-π stacking interactions but also rigidifies the molecular conformation, resulting in a narrow-band blue emission. Moreover, the TPE-containing compounds 2c and 3c possessed characteristic aggregation-induced emission (AIE) properties with fluorescence quantum yields of up to 66% and 38% in the solid state, respectively. Thus, this article has methodically investigated the factors influencing the optical behavior, such as intermolecular interactions, and the steric effects of the substituent group, thereby opening up the potential to develop narrow-band pyrene-based blue emitters for OLED device applications.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Stroke and dementia are major neurological disorders that contribute significantly to disease burden and are interlinked in terms of risk. Nevertheless, there is currently no study investigating the influence of residential greenspace on the trajectory of these neurological disorders. METHODS: This longitudinal study utilized data from the UK Biobank. Exposure to residential greenspace was measured by the percentage of total greenspace coverage within a 300-meter buffer zone surrounding the participants' residences. A multistate model was employed to illustrate the trajectory of major neurological disorders, and a piecewise Cox regression model was applied to explore the impact of residential greenspace on different time courses of disease transitions. RESULTS: With 422,649 participants and a median follow-up period of 12.5 years, 8568 (2.0 %), 5648 (1.3 %), and 621 (0.1 %) individuals developed incident stroke, dementia, and comorbidity of both conditions, respectively. An increase in residential greenspace by one interquartile range was associated with reduced risks of transitions from baseline to stroke, dementia, and death, as well as from stroke to comorbidity. The corresponding hazard ratios (HRs) were 0.967 (95 % CI: 0.936, 0.998), 0.928 (0.892, 0.965), 0.925 (0.907, 0.942), and 0.799 (0.685, 0.933), respectively. Furthermore, the protective effect of residential greenspace on the transition from stroke or dementia to comorbidity was particularly pronounced within the first year and over 5 years after stroke and during the 2 to 3 years after dementia onset, with HRs of 0.692 (0.509, 0.941), 0.705 (0.542, 0.918), and 0.567 (0.339, 0.949), respectively. CONCLUSION: This study observed a protective role of residential greenspace in the trajectory of major neurological disorders and contributed to identifying critical progression windows. These findings underscore the significance of environment-health interactions in the prevention of neurological disorders.

RESUMO

The spectral narrowing engineering of pure-organic emitters attracts great research interests in realizing high color purity. Here, the adjusted medium-range charge transfer (MCT) strategy of TIC-BO with rigid planar structure by fusing two typical UV-emitting multiple resonance (MR) fragments via the ingenious double-halide cyclized coupling reaction is reported. The resulting TIC-BO with MCT nature shows efficient violet-blue emission in dilute toluene and evaporated host-guest films, and desirably narrowed spectra are achieved by the suppression of structural relaxation and the shortened charge transfer states. The single-doped device with TIC-BO as emitter shows narrowed violet-blue electroluminescence peaked at 428 nm with full-width at half-maximum of 43 nm (0.28 eV), and the Commission Internationale de l'Éclairage coordinates of (0.160, 0.050). A maximum external quantum efficiency (EQEmax ) of 20.50% is achieved, which is among the best results of the corresponding violet-blue emitting region. Further introduction of a stronger electron-donating carbazole group makes TIC-BNO exhibit red-shifted sky-blue emission with MR-dominant properties, and good device performance is received with EQEmax of 34.58%. The outstanding performances of TIC-BO successfully demonstrate the significance and prospect of the proposed molecular design strategy.

RESUMO

The purpose of this study was to identify the target genes of tcon_00044595, elucidate its activation site, and provide novel insights into the pathogenesis and treatment of neonatal hypoxic-ischemic brain damage (HIBD). Through homologous blast analysis, we identified predicted target sequences in the neighboring regions of the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) tcon_00044595, suggesting that limd1 is its target gene. Starbase was utilized to identify potential candidate microRNAs associated with the lncRNA. The interaction between the candidate microRNAs and limd1 was investigated and validated using various experimental methods including in vitro cell culture, cell transfection, dual fluorescence reporter detection system, and real-time PCR. Homology alignment analysis revealed that the lncRNA tcon_00044595 exhibited a 246 bp homologous sequence at the 3' end of the adjacent limd1 gene, with a conservation rate of 68%. Analysis conducted on Starbase online identified three potential microRNA candidates: miR-3471, miR-883a-5p, and miR-214-3p. Intracellular expression of the limd1 gene was significantly down-regulated upon transfection with miR-3471, while the other two microRNAs did not produce noticeable effects. Luciferase reporter assays identified two interaction sites (UTR-1, UTR-2) between miR-3471 and the limd1 3'UTR, with UTR-1 exhibiting a strong influence. Further CCK8 assay indicated a protective role of miR-3471 during low oxygen stroke in HIBD. The potential regulatory relationship between lncRNA (tcon_00044595), miR-3471, and the target gene limd1 suggests their involvement in the occurrence and development of HIBD, providing new insights for investigating the underlying mechanisms and exploring targeted therapeutic approaches for HIBD.

RESUMO

Three new pyrrolo[3,2-b]pyrrole derivatives containing methoxyphenyl, pyrene or tetraphenylethylene (TPE) units (compounds 1-3) have been designed, synthesized and fully characterized. The aggregation-induced emission (AIE) properties of compounds 1-3 were tested in different water fraction (fw ) of tetrahydrofuran (THF). The pyrrolo[3,2-b]pyrrole derivative 3 containing TPE units exhibited typical AIE features with an enhanced emission (∼32-fold) in the solid state versus in solution; compounds 1 and 2 exhibited an aggregation-caused quenching effect. In addition, the steric and electronic effects of the peripheral moieties on the emission behavior, both in solution and in the solid state, have been investigated. Moreover, pyrrolo[3,2-b]pyrrole 1 exhibits high sensitivity and selectivity for dichloromethane and chloroform solvents, with the system displaying a new emission peak and fast response time under ultraviolet irradiation.

RESUMO

The present study investigated the composition, abundance, and diversity of gut microbes in full-term and late-preterm infants from a medical center in eastern China. A total of 144 genomes of stool samples were captured for 16S rRNA metagenomic analyses. A high abundance of commensal intestinal bacteria was detected in these samples such as Phocaeicola vulgatus, Escherichia coli, and Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, indicating a relatively consistent diversity of gut microbes in the present full-term infants aged 38-40 weeks. However, late preterm infants (n = 50) with mandatory antimicrobials feeding exhibited lower diversity but a higher composition of opportunistic pathogens such as Enterococcus species. Centralized on the situation, we explored the regulatory effect of Clostridium butyricum as probiotics on these late preterm infants. The consumption of C. butyricum did not restore the composition of gut microbes altered by antimicrobials to normal levels, although several opportunistic pathogens decreased significantly after probiotic therapy including Staphylococcus aureus, Sphingomonas echinoides, and Pseudomonas putida. We also compared the effects of day-fed versus night-fed probiotics. Intriguingly, the nighttime feeding showed a higher proportion of C. butyricum compared with probiotic day-feeding. Finally, fecal metabolome and metabolites were analyzed in late preterm infants with (n = 20) or without probiotic therapy (n = 20). The KEGG enrichment analysis demonstrated that vitamin digestion and absorption, synaptic vesicle cycle, and biotin metabolism were significantly increased in the probiotic-treated group, while MSEA indicated that a series of metabolism were significantly enriched in probiotic-treated infants including glycerolipid, biotin, and lysine, indicating the complex effects of probiotic therapy on glutathione metabolism and nutrients digestion and absorption in late preterm infants. Overall, this study provided metagenomic and metabolomic profile of the gut microbes in full-term newborns and late preterm infants in eastern China. Further studies are needed to support and elucidate the role of probiotic feeding in late preterm infants with mandatory antimicrobial treatment.

RESUMO

Metalloporphyrins and metallophthalocyanines emerge as popular building blocks to develop covalent organic nanosheets (CONs) for CO2 reduction reaction (CO2 RR). However, existing CONs predominantly yield CO, posing a challenge in achieving efficient methanol production through multielectron reduction. Here, ultrathin, cationic, and cobalt-phthalocyanine-based CONs (iminium-CONs) are reported for electrochemical CO2 -to-CH3 OH conversion. The integration of quaternary iminium groups enables the formation of ultrathin morphology with uniformly anchored cobalt active sites, which are pivotal for facilitating rapid multielectron transfer. Moreover, the cationic iminium-CONs exhibit a lower activity for hydrogen evolution side reaction. Consequently, iminium-CONs manifest significantly enhanced selectivity for methanol production, as evidenced by a remarkable 711% and 270% improvement in methanol partial current density (jCH3OH ) compared to pristine CoTAPc and neutral imine-CONs, respectively. Under optimized conditions, iminium-CONs deliver a high jCH3OH of 91.7 mA cm-2 at -0.78 V in a flow cell. Further, iminium-CONs achieve a global methanol Faradaic efficiency (FECH3OH ) of 54% in a tandem device. Thanks to the single-site feature, the methanol is produced without the concurrent generation of other liquid byproducts. This work underscores the potential of cationic covalent organic nanosheets as a compelling platform for electrochemical six-electron reduction of CO2 to methanol.

RESUMO

AIMS: Regular exercise training benefits cardiovascular health and effectively reduces the risk for cardiovascular disease. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) play important roles in cardiac pathophysiology. However, the role of circRNAs in response to exercise training and biological mechanisms responsible for exercise-induced cardiac protection remain largely unknown. METHODS AND RESULTS: RNA sequencing was used to profile circRNA expression in adult mouse cardiomyocytes that were isolated from mice with or without exercise training. Exercise-induced circRNA circUtrn was significantly increased in swimming-trained adult mouse cardiomyocytes. In vivo, circUtrn was found to be required for exercise-induced physiological cardiac hypertrophy. circUtrn inhibition abolished the protective effects of exercise on myocardial ischaemia-reperfusion remodelling. circUtrn overexpression prevented myocardial ischaemia-reperfusion-induced acute injury and pathological cardiac remodelling. In vitro, overexpression of circUtrn promoted H9 human embryonic stem cell-induced cardiomyocyte growth and survival via protein phosphatase 5 (PP5). Mechanistically, circUtrn directly bound to PP5 and regulated the stability of PP5 in a ubiquitin-proteasome-dependent manner. Hypoxia-inducible factor 1α-dependent splicing factor SF3B1 acted as an upstream regulator of circUtrn in cardiomyocytes. CONCLUSION: The circRNA circUtrn is upregulated upon exercise training in the heart. Overexpression of circUtrn can prevent myocardial I/R-induced injury and pathological cardiac remodelling.

RESUMO

Purpose: Medical students play an essential role in providing disease consultation for patients. Despite the rapid increase in thyroid disease, there are few data on how well Chinese medical students master the knowledge of thyroid diseases. This study aims to evaluate the clinical knowledge, perception, and clinical communication confidence of medical students on thyroid cancer (TC). Patients and Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out among medical students of Chongqing Medical University. An anonymous, self-administered questionnaire distributed from December 2022 to February 2023 included items on demographics and other information, the warning signs of cancer, perception regarding a person's chance of developing cancer, and clinical communication confidence. Descriptive analysis, difference analysis, and correlation analysis were carried out. Results: A total of 226 medical students participated in the survey. Most students (n=191, 84.5%) had heard of TC, while only a few (n=10, 4.4%) regularly performed thyroid self-examination. One hundred and eighty-four students (81.4%) agreed that an unexplained lump or swelling could be a sign of cancer. There were significant differences in thyroid clinical knowledge in relation to gender (P<0.001), major (P=0.026), and thyroid disease (P=0.030). Clinical communication confidence showed significant differences in year of study (P=0.002), major (P=0.048), and graduate major (P<0.001). There was a correlation between clinical confidence and year of study (r=0.261, P<0.001). Conclusion: Most medical students have sufficient clinical knowledge on TC prevention, but there are still misconceptions related to TC screening. In addition, medical students lack confidence in communicating with patients. Comprehensive communication training should be integrated into the medical curriculum and clinical activities should be initiated earlier.

RESUMO

Background: Hemodynamic instability is the main factor responsible for the development of intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) in premature newborns. Herein, we evaluated the predictive ability of blood pressure variability (BPV) and anterior cerebral artery (ACA) blood flow parameters in IVH in premature infants with gestational age (GA) ≤32 weeks and birth weight (BW) ≤ 1,500 g. Methods: Preterm infants with GA ≤32 weeks and BW ≤ 1,500 g admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of the hospital affiliated to Yangzhou University from January 2020 to January 2023 were selected as the research subjects. All preterm infants were admitted within 1 h after birth, and systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), and mean arterial blood pressure (MABP) were monitored at 1-h intervals. The difference between maximum and minimum values (max-min), standard deviation (SD), coefficient of variation (CV), and successive variation (SV) were used as BPV indicators. On the 1st, 3rd, and 7th day after birth, transcranial ultrasound examination was performed to screen for the occurrence of IVH. On the 24 ± 1 h after birth, systolic velocity (Vs), diastolic velocity (Vd), and resistance index (RI) of the ACA were measured simultaneously. Preterm infants were divided into the IVH group and non-IVH group based on the results of transcranial ultrasound examination, and the correlation between BPV indicators, ACA blood flow parameters, and development of IVH was analyzed. Results: A total of 92 premature infants were enrolled, including 49 in the IVH group and 43 in the non-IVH group. There was no statistically significant difference in baseline characteristics such as BW, GA, sex, and perinatal medical history between the two groups of preterm infants (P > 0.05). The SBP SD (OR: 1.480, 95%CI: 1.020-2.147) and ACA-RI (OR: 3.027, 95%CI: 2.769-3.591) were independent risk factors for IVH in premature newborns. The sensitivity and specificity of combined detection of SBP SD and ACA-RI in predicting IVH were 61.2% and 79.1%, respectively. Conclusion: High BPV and ACA-RI are related to IVH in premature infants with GA ≤32 w and BW ≤1,500 g. Combined detection of SBP SD and ACA-RI has a certain predictive effect on early identification of IVH.
